Having grown in popularity throughout the past few years, Silent Motion have become the go-to record label for consistently fresh material from both up-comers and veterans alike. From Wolf Camo‘s industrial creations to Fill Spectre‘s finale piece, Silent Motion hasn’t disappointed thus far. And they don’t seem to have plans to do so anytime soon as the American label introduces rising Romanian producer Alienmade to our ears for SMD036. Alienmade produces three heavyweight tracks for ‘No Fks Given‘ EP plus a mean remix. Today we have the pleasure of premiering his collaboration with fellow upcoming talent Kodama entitled ‘Sound Business’.
But before ‘Sound Business‘ comes two bass driven bangers to massage the ear drums and nod the head. The title track ‘No Fks Given‘ demonstrates some of that no nonsense attitude that the title alludes to through the medium of aggressive bass lines, out in the open with no unnecessary clutter. The no-nonsense simplicity of Alienmade‘s style continues into my personal favourite, ‘We Are Coming‘, another bad boy tune with another weighty, system testing low end. The subtle stabs of cold synth chords really give the track an edge, producing a cold, hostile environment. Today’s premiere and collaboration with Kodama ‘Sound Business‘ perfectly displays what a collaboration can do for producers. Where Alienmade clearly knows how to write a hefty bass-line, Kodama compliments the weight with his ever creative melody and pad work. The duos sounds mold together seamlessly.
If there’s one thing I’ve come to expect from Silent Motion, it’s an EP that features a solid remix. Having recently featured on the mighty Crucial Recordings, Portuguese heavyweight 3WA takes on ‘Sound Business’, transforming the track into unadulterated chaos, bringing dark, teeth grinding textures into the mix.
With ‘No Fks Given‘, Alienmade makes a statement, bringing attitude and a sense of audaciousness in his ability to make minimal compositions so powerful. Sometimes, all you need is a fat bass-line and a face smacking snare.
