Premiere: B-Say – HUSH! (BDMN005)

A couple of days out from its release, we have the pleasure of premiering ‘HUSH!’, the title track from B-Say‘s new EP on Californian imprint Badman Studios. Since discovering B-Say some time last year, his beats have been in regular rotation for me, consequently featuring on my 2019 ‘Producers To Watch‘ list.

HUSH! EP‘ stands as B-Say‘s first showing this year and I’m sure there’s more to come considering the continuous development of his tenacious sounds. For this latest effort, B-Say weaves atmospheric eastern licks throughout the journey, most notably on ‘Sanskrits‘, matched with energetic percussion where at first hosts tribal like bongos, eventually transforming into heavier, more contemporary flavours. He creates powerful minimal structures on ‘Cocytus‘ and my personal favourite ‘Teef‘. A perfect balance of space and bass with rough, menacing growls providing some meaner ‘bad man’ vibes. Our premiere today, ‘HUSH!‘ is one of the more dynamic tracks on the record, where once again, B-say guides you through Arabic markets and mystical pathways with sprightly hooks and lively sub bass pressure.

BDMN005 is out this Friday (12th April) and available from the Badman Studio’s Bandcamp.
