Ever come across a producer and wonder where the hell have you been? Step forward American dubstep group Ternion Sound, made up of three proficient producers out of Minneapolis; Johnny Foreplay, Apparition and Nostalgia. It appears I’ve had my eyes and ears closed for some time up until now as they debut on DUPLOC this week with two nutty tracks available for download. I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve gripped my headphones, teeth clasped together snarling like an angry Rottweiler, however I found myself doing just that whilst enduring the sheer distorted filth that is ‘Verify Me’. Things brighten up slightly on ‘Yellow And Grey’ with a sharp flute-like lead over some crispy minimal percussion and a bass line that harps back to the early dubstep era. A perfect blend. I suspect DUPLOC has got in there early with these guys and there’s plenty more to come. Don’t sleep like I did.
