Oxossi adds yet another high quality EP to his CV this week as he returns to Deep Dark & Dangerous following his single release ‘Cities Of Salt’ (DDD020) from 2017. ‘Dark Passenger’ takes us for a ride through various spheres of Oxossi‘s world. The title track brings the weighty sub bass driven side, ‘Tippy-Toeing’ comes with unique bleep-bloop music box leads at the forefront with a striking minimal edge, ‘Tokoloshe’ opens up the B-side as the most aggressive, punchy track on the EP and finally fellow west coast producer Saule jumps in with ‘Ride It’, a thoroughly played track from the likes of J:Kenzo that still sounds fresh on release day.
Oxossi‘s ‘Escher’ EP on Crucial Recordings last year was killer (obviously) but essentially for me this record really does bring the variety however each track does have one thing in common; they’re all attention grabbing dancefloor killers, no fillers. Enjoy the ride!
‘Dark Passenger’ EP (DDD030) is out Wednesday (28th March) and still available here on vinyl or digitally from the Deep Dark & Dangerous Bandcamp.
