Dub Buzz – 26/11/2018

This week sees a second edition of ‘Dub Buzz’ as I’m either unaware of any releases this week or quite frankly not 100% feeling the few I have come across. I’ve pick out five of my favourite tunes that have popped up on my Soundcloud feed over the last seven days or so,  that I reckon need to be snapped up and released immediately.

Cartridge – Cashmere

Following his superb EP ‘Outsider’ on CNCPT Collective earlier this month, upcoming producer Cartridge continues his relentless improvement with another high quality banger ‘Cashmere’. The clip shows Cartridge is bursting at the seams with new material with fresh sounds begging to see the light of day and with 2019 round the corner, expect a big year from the young producer.

Cartridge featured on the Honey & Bass Sessions series earlier this year, still available to listen to here.

B-Say – Sanskrits

Another young talented producer, B-say has regularly been putting out some serious stylishly dark material over the last few months including an EP on Instigate Recordings. None more so than this beauty ‘Sanskrits’. Mystical strung out vocals are the centre of the track matched with deep and dark low end and percussion arranged to perfection. Along with ‘Cocytus’, another recent upload by the UK producer, B-Say clearly has plenty to offer heading into a new year.

Quasar & Phossa – Nightcrawler

Separating from his usual partner in crime Glume who have created some incredible material together this year, Phossa teams up with Quasar on this ear piercingly rough cut that would do some serious damage on any system. This is the darkest I’ve heard Phossa go that has no doubt been influenced by the twisted mind of Quasar, a producer fairly new to my ears.

Glume & Kodama – Pai

Similar to Phossa previously, Glume breaks away from the regular partnership and heads up a fresh collaboration with a favourite recent discovery of mine, Manchester’s Kodama.  As with any good collaboration, both producers influences can be heard through out ‘Pai‘ with its solid rhythm, heavy 808s and full bodied textures. This needs a release!

Opus – Demon (strate)

As noted on the blog previously, Opus has had quite the year with high profile releases on White Peach and Crucial Recordings. As 2018 draws to a close, the welshman refuses to see it out quietly. Teasing us with what he’s got in the bag, Opus presents this killer production ‘Demon (strate)‘ which features a powerful viola section played by the classically trained producer himself, now becoming a welcome regular feature in his work.

Don’t forget to give the Honey & Bass Soundcloud a follow, I try to repost bangers on there as often as possible!
