It’s a quick turn around for Honey & Bass favourite B-Say this week as following last months heavyweight EP on FKOF, the UK producer comes through with a debut on Dirty Beats and unleashes four dark bangers in the form of ‘The Pact’ EP. We have the honour of premiering the huge ‘Parlotear’ today, just one of the four thick, powerful tracks on what is a fully stacked EP.
The opening title track ‘The Pact‘ indicates B-Say‘s neck breaking capabilities. A fat, bass driven stomper lifted by an odd zany sample, descending and detuned like a malfunctioning jack-in-the-box, eccentric and unsettling. Today’s premiere ‘Parlotear‘ proves to be another bass driven beauty with a bass tone that B-Say has clearly mastered and made for himself, getting rougher into the later stages. This one dives into cold meditative terrains however, featuring an icy high frequency chime, heavy on the reverb, plus chopped and screwed vocals on a dizzying loop.
Fellow producer on the rise Mungk stops by for ‘Maleficium’, a collaboration where both producer’s influences are evident, powerful percussion with those charming eastern strings. To finish, one of Poland’s leading bass weight gurus Hitman puts his murderous sub frequency wizardry to the test, with a remix of ‘The Pact’. Destructive and fierce, he laces the chaotic low end movements with energetic samples and breaks, a powerful finish to a powerful EP.
DBM009 has been structured in a way that, in my opinion, more EPs should be. We’ve got two killer originals where B-Say displays his now distinct sound, a fire collaboration with the equally impressive Mungk and then a huge remix from Hitman, bringing the original tune into even more venomous areas. Now that’s fully stacked!
DBM009 is out this Friday (27th March) and available to download from the Dirty Beats Bandcamp.
