Welcome to The Hive! It’s been another decent month of releases which seems like standard procedure as we continue into 2018, so lets dive right in!

American trio Ternion Sound kicks off this month with their monstrous two track release on DUPLOC (DUPLOC021). It took me off guard this one, having not previously indulged myself into the trio’s talents. However ‘Verify Me’ slapped me right across the chops as did ‘Yellow And Grey’ on the flip. Read more about the release here and be sure to grab the download from the DUPLOC Bandcamp.

Young multi skilled musician Opus proved his potential with ‘Mindapple‘ EP on Simply Deep Records. Here we were treated to a generous six tracks with a nice array of features; Ether hopped on a remix of the title track, Fill Spectre went in on a remix of ‘Clusterfack’ and Flipz MC laid down some hard bars on the closing track ‘Lightbound’. Definitely not one to overlook and there’s certainly plenty more in the bag from Opus with a release on Crucial Recordings in the works! Go grab SD007 here.

It was Crucial Recordings themselves bringing one of the hardest bits this month with a couple of heaters from one of 2018’s break outs, Hebbe. ‘Mad Hatter‘ was the long awaited anthemic A-side on CRUCIAL015 but for me ‘Galata’ is the real deal on the flip. Cop it from the Crucial Recordings Bandcamp or on vinyl here.

Shlump first took the Deep Dark & Dangerous reigns this month with a fairly rowdy single track download entitled ‘Alien Technology‘ (DDD028). You can grab that here. But for sure it was Oxossi that smashed it with his killer new EP ‘Dark Passenger‘ (DDD029). The four track release is mostly made up of long time dubs that have been begging to be dropped. Find out more about the EP via last weeks Weekly Buzz. The vinyl is still available here and the digital is available from the DDD Bandcamp.

One of the most organic sounding producers Foamplate, unleashed the third release on his growing Plantpower label with two authentic belters ‘Nettle’ and ‘Moose Fly’. When it comes to some real honest dubstep these days, Foamplate is your man. Looking forward to hearing more from this geeza, been hooked on his style ever since the 7.5 EP on Crucial (CRUCIAL003). Read more about PLANTPOWER003 here. The vinyl is sold out but available digitally from the Plantpower Bandcamp.

Miami label Version Collective is probably one of the most consistent labels about right now, putting out solid EP’s from various producers across the globe on almost a monthly basis. This month saw Parrotice, a previously unknown producer to me, with a three track EP entitled ‘Rattle’. Another cracker that goes deep into the 140 realm. Be sure to download that from the Version Collective Bandcamp.

Belgian producer Zygos absolutely smashed it with his new EP on Cue Line Records. ‘Sudd‘ EP contains four incredibly deep tracks, some of his best to date. For me it’s the title track that really does the business bringing absolute pressure. The DPRTNDRP remix is definitely not too shabby either. Pick up the vinyl here or digitally here.

One of Honey & Bass’s current faves Darkraqqen put out his best material to date on Encrypted Audio, collaborating with Ramsez who you might know from his release on Version Collective last year (VCEP006). ENC033 features three dark and gritty tracks as you’d expect with plenty of pressure. ‘FML‘ in particular is one to check out. Download ENC033 digitally here. Darkraqqen also featured on the first instalment of ‘Tuned Up‘, check that out here if you haven’t already!

Other noteable releases this month came from man of the moment Samba with THAT collaboration with Chokez Ghastly‘ finally getting released on Encrypted Audio (ENV015) that inevitably sold out instantly. Samba also featured on the ‘Divison Partial 4‘ compilation EP with ‘Tsss‘. You can find out more about that release here. SYSTEM head honcho V.I.V.E.K featured on the vinyl only label Blacklist (BLACKLIST008) with two solid, pure dubstep heaters that throwback to the old school. Of course this sold out in no time. Six Sunsets released ‘Shatter‘ on Sure State Records (SSR004) with a K Man remix on the flip, available here and Drew’s Theory put out a two track release on Dank ‘N Dirty Dubz (Dank035), available here.

We were spoilt with free downloads this month and lost track of how many I picked up! But here are some I’ve been rinsing –

Gawd – Feed –DL
Xakra – Backstabber – DL
Bukez Finezt x NGHTDRPS x Yunis – Hey ET – DL
ALXZNDR – Woo Hah – DL
Reaction – Tales Of The West – DL
Cartridge – Interlude Remixes (Strictly140) – DL

Big shouts to all artists and labels that featured and especially to you for taking the time to check out my recommendations this month!
