Version Collective are one of the many labels that have popped up over the US in the last few years that have been making waves across the genre, signing new names that deliver some of the freshest sounding material, Sweepa being the finest example. After releasing ‘Boundaries’, a solid LP on VC last November (VCLP001), the Dutch producer returns a year later with ‘The Void’, a killer five track EP with crispy production and a welcome variety of sounds. For me, the title track stands out a country mile. It’s instantly recognisable, rough and tough with plenty of weight and great flow. One I’ll be playing for a while.
